Join the Torrington Historical Society to celebrate John Brown’s birthday and his trail blazing commitment to racial equality and civil rights. The program will begin with African Drumming by Angaza Mwando and an invocation by Rev. Kevin Johnson of the AME Zion Church. Mark McEachern, Executive Director of the Torrington Historical Society, will provide some historical perspective and the men’s choral group Gaudeamus will sing relevant songs. The program will be followed by birthday cake and coffee in the Trinity Church parish house. This event is sponsored by the Torrington Historical Society in collaboration with Trinity Church.
